Thank you for your interest in Look! Squirrel! llc. At the moment, our packs with dogs over 55 lbs. and high energy dogs are very close to capacity. We are currently selecting dogs based on size, energy level, and temperament (the general attitude a dog has towards other animals and people). We have a wait list for those that don’t immediately fit into one of our current packs, but may in the future. Feel free to contact us for more details. Below is a list of registration requirements.

Age Restrictions:

It is preferred that a dog wait until four months of age and have all their required puppy vaccinations (plus the time needed for vaccinations to actively protect your puppy) to start daycare. Please ask your vet for recommendations. If your veterinarian feels your dog is ready to start earlier than that time, please provide written approval.

Spay / Neuter Policy:

Males must be neutered by one year of age. However, if the dog is showing sexual aggression to other dogs or his temperament changes, he may be temporarily excused from daycare until neutered. Once he has been neutered and two weeks have passed since his surgery, we can try again. Female dogs need to be spayed prior to attending daycare. However, we may consider some short term flexibility based on your vet’s written recommendation and how other dogs react to an intact female dog in their pack.

Vaccinations and Fecal Test Requirements:

The vaccinations needed include: Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella. A negative fecal lab test, that was conducted within the last six months, is also required. If you don’t have a recent test, we have a lab service available or you can bring a fecal sample to your veterinarian. We use IDEXX lab (same lab used by local veterinarians) and offer testing for $49.99. Please contact us for more details. Going forward, a negative parasite test is required every year and a Giardia test is required every six months.

The Evaluation:

Once a profile is created, it’s time to schedule an evaluation. We like to conduct evaluations during dog daycare hours. Evaluations are 30 minutes long and are held Monday to Friday (not including some holidays and school vacations) at the following times: 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Some flexibility may be available upon request. The evaluation is $20. plus tax. If your dog doesn’t fit into our program, we will refund that amount.
